So this band was formed in 2003 and broke up in 2006. They were a 6 piece band from Texas. One thing that caught my eye was the name of the band. I think Toru Okada doesn’t make sense when translated literally in Japanese, so I was confused at first. But, as I looked around some more I now think it might be named after this character from a novel named Toru Okada. When I read more about this character, it seemed like it made sense in the context of a screamo band’s name. (You can read it Here). The band has 4 releases I believe. A 10 song album, and 8 song album, a self titled release, and a split with a band called die emperor die. (Their Bandcamp). My favorite song of theirs is “Kiss Me Through The Computer Screen.” At the end of their self-titled release, there’s an excellent monologue that speaks to me very much.
